A Journey That Starts in the Eje Cafetero
Every bag of COFFUEL begins its journey in Colombia's Eje Cafetero — the Coffee Triangle, a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape and one of the most storied coffee-growing regions on earth. This is where our origin and technology partner, Garcabas, is based, working directly with the region's coffee ecosystem to source husk that would otherwise be discarded.
Why Origin Matters
Coffee husk has traditionally been treated as agricultural leftover — burned off, dumped, or left to decompose. COFFUEL's alliance with Garcabas turns that residue into a resource, creating additional value from material that already exists, without requiring trees to be felled to produce the feedstock.
From Pereira to Your Door
Once processed and densified into pellets in Colombia, COFFUEL is shipped to the UK, where it's warehoused and distributed to homes, gardens, and businesses across London and beyond. COFFUEL offers a different kind of biomass fuel: one built around repurposed agricultural waste rather than freshly cut timber.
A Circular Story, Not Just a Supply Chain
We call our model Crop to Ash to Earth. Coffee is grown and harvested in Colombia. The husk — a by-product most of the industry throws away — becomes COFFUEL. You burn it at home in the UK. The ash that's left behind can be returned to soil, gardens, or plant beds where appropriate, helping close the loop instead of sending the residue to waste.
A Partnership, Not a Transaction
We're intentional about this distinction: Garcabas is COFFUEL's origin and technology alliance partner, not a third-party supplier we simply place orders with. The relationship means shared investment in getting the product right — from raw material sourcing through to the pellet that ends up in your fire pit.
